Squaw Valley at Lake Tahoe was the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. The Olympic torch is still burning. In the winter they use the cable car to take skiers to the top of Squaw Valley for great skiing.
In the summer the cable car still runs and takes you from 6200 feet (lake level) up to 8200 feet above sea level where you can experience some of the most awesome unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding mountains ranges.
